The OEM PSU in the Rackable SE3016 is loud. You can replace the small fan, but you can also replace the PSU completely. I also needed to replace the PSU as it wasn't able to drive all 16 ports after a while.

Alternatively, you can purchase a premade one from ModDIY.com: https://www.moddiy.com/products/modDIY-24pin-Molex-PSU-Extension-Cable-(18AWG).html

I ordered one on March 28 and it arrived April 11. My instructions to them:

I would like a male to male cable. This is for use with a Rackable SE3016. I have a regular ATX PSU with a female plug but so does the device I want to plug it into. I *think* the wires will need to be reversed on one end. (not 100% sure) Here's the spec sheet for the original PSU (Page 8): http://www.0wn4ge.co.uk/files//rackable/1220241989xn2f8%20(Rackable%20PSU).pdf Please feel free to contact me before making the cable

They were able to make the cable without having to contact me

4-Pin Power Cable
  1. Remove the pins from the cables using the staples. (https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/5438-how-to-remove-to-atx-power-connector-pins-without-special-tools/)

  2. Chop off the SATA end of the Molex to SATA cable

  3. Starting with the edged key and going clock wise, the colour of the cables should be Black, Black, Yellow, and Red

  4. Solder, heat shrink, done
